Squirt Girls - MALLORY KUEPFER HITS GRAND SLAM!
Submitted By Julie Donaldson on Wednesday, July 21, 2010
This week the squirt girls did continue with fire, as they conquered Fullarton Tuesday night, 16-8, with the help of Mallory Kuepfer's GRAND SLAM, and then they continued strong Wednesday night against Mitchell 2, winning 14-6!

On Tuesday night in Fullarton, Briana Donaldson and Carly Gerber switched innings pitching.  Although Briana struggled with the 3rd inning, the girls, held Fullarton to only 8 runs.

In the first inning Mallory cranked a grand slam which helped take the lead quickly in the game as we lead, 10-2 going into the 3rd!  The final score was 16-8.  Girls to cross the plate for the team were, Kaitlin Sippel, Erica Hemmingway, Ashley Bannerman, Briana (3), Mallory (2), Heather Vance, Chelsea Smith, Carly Gerber, Reghanne Howes, Jessica Bannerman, and Sommer Bender (2)!  Hey that's the whole team!  Way to be on Girls!

Our "Game Ball" on tuesday, of course went to our Grand Slam hitter, Mallory Kuepfer!  Way to stand out Mals!!

On Wednesday Night against Mitchell #2, we continued playing strong!  Briana only allowed 3 runs in as she pitched the first 3 innings, closing the second inning quick with 3 up, 3 down!  Carly pitched the 4th and started really strong, striking her first 2 batters out, after a little trouble, and 3 runs in, team mates Mallory and Briana, got the 3rd out with a squeeze play between 3rd and home to get out of the inning.  Keep up the great pitching girls!

On the bats, Jessica hit well, both times up to bat, and Briana hit a double and also a double RBI.  Carly and Rachel Williams also hit great singles, however Mitchell was struggling with their pitchers and there wasn't a lot of available good pitches to get anymore hits in.  Those to score tonight were, Rachel, Erica (2), Ashley, Briana, Mallory, Carly, Reghanne, Jessica (2), Sommer (2), Kaitlin (2).

Our "Game Ball" tonight for most stand out player, went to two individuals again.  Jessica Bannerman for bettering her bats and hitting well both times at bat, as well for her catching tonight, and to Briana Donaldson for her 3 big hits out to LF, her pitching, and pinch play with Mal on 3rd.  Keep up the great work girls!
