Midget Girls - Win at Home
Submitted By Jan Kellum on Wednesday, July 28, 2010
Midget Girls win their final home game July 27th at John Bell North.

What was thought to be a possible cancelled game due to players work commitments and holidays, turned out to be an exciting last at bat win!

Thanks to the Bantam girls who were available and willing to play up a level to pull off the win.
Solid pitching from Lauren Stewart for the whole game was key. The girls held Fullarton scoreless the first 3 innings. While the first 5 batters for Listowel scored in the first inning, Fullarton pulled out the stop allowing only 1 more run in the next 2 innings. In the 4th and 5th Fullarton hit big and scored 12 runs, while Listowel only crossed the plate 3 more times in the 4th. Bottom of 5 score is 12-9 for Fullarton, Listowel needs 4 to win...pressure is on. First 2 batters hit hard grounders but couldn't beat the throw. Not looking too good...but wait, Hunter Chapman draws a walk. Next batter hits a beauty home run, Alex lays down the perfect bunt, Britney belts a double...now it is tied. Huge pressure for the next batter...Who is up? Our pitcher, good thing she is used to pressure. No problem, Lauren steps up and belts out another solid high flyer scoring Britney for the win. The fans hadn't seen this much excitement all year...again...Thanks for the support and enthusiasm from our Bantam players to make this possible. Great Game Girls...Thanks!
