LMBA 2020 Season Cancelled
Submitted By Vince Leary on Friday, June 12, 2020
After review of return to play guidelines set forth by the Province of Ontario as well as draft guidelines issued by Baseball Ontario. Listowel Minor Baseball is sad to announce the cancellation of our 2020 ball season.

Given the uncertainty surrounding when restrictions might be lifted as well as very strict Return to Play protocols and the amount of new responsibility that would have fallen to coaches, player and umpires we decided that we could not reasonably move ahead with this season. It was not an easy decision, but we feel it is the responsible decision for the health and safety of our Listowel Minor Baseball family.

With the cancellation of the season, we will be offering credits or refunds to all our players.  In the case of the credit, the amount applied will cover all next year’s registration costs (except for a player moving up from Junior Development), even if your child is moving up a division.  In the case of Junior Development, the credit will reflect the actual paid amount.

An announcement will be made over the weekend regarding the launch of a web portal where you can indicate if you would like a credit or refund.

LMBA is continuing to meet as we are hopeful that with the further lifting of restriction, we may be able to set up some training (and possibly some games) for those who are interested.

We want to thank everyone in the LMBA community for their understanding and continued support and we hope to see all of you back for a great 2021 season.

Yours in baseball,

Listowel Minor Baseball Executive
