Rookie Reps Compete In Goderich Tourney
The Listowel Rookies took their undefeated record to Goderich over the weekend knowing they would be in tough, they played hard but came away empty handed. First game was early Saturday morning against a team from dorchester and the kids came up against a hot short stop and we were handed our first loss of the season.
Second game was against a team from essex it was a back and forth affair with essex ending up on top by a 18-15 score.
Our last game was against Kitchener who where undefeated this season as well. Our kids put forth their best effort of the tournament but came up just short in a 13-12 loss.
After a tough weekend the kids travelled to St. Mary's for a monday night game. The "pitching machine" was hot throwing curve balls, knuckleballs and yes even some nasty drop balls. Our kids couldn't quite figure out the pitching machine or the grass infield and we were handed our first loss of the regular season.
We will look to improve upon our defence with two practices this week on Wednesday and then again on Sunday before we travel to Lucan for a game on Monday
