Past Week results in 3 WOBA Victories
The young Legionaries had 3 WOBA games this week and were victorious in all 3 beating Clinton 20-6, St. Marys 10-0 and Exeter 5-4

On Tuesday night the local lads traveled to Clinton and handed them a convincing 20-6 beating. Chris Enders picked up the win as he threw 4 innings allowing only 1 hit, 4 walks, 7 strike outs and 2 runs. Most of the offense came from Clinton, as the gave up 18 free passes however Jeff Mock managed 3 hits, Enders and Parker Yungblut each had 2 and Austin McGrath had 1.

Wednesday night saw the Legionaries head to St Marys for their 1st meeting of the season. Owen Hamilton got the start then Mock shut the door as the pair combined to shut St. Marys out allowing giving up only 2 hits and 3 walks over the 5 innings. Enders & Ben Bowman led the way offensively with a pair of hits each while Mock, Yungblut, McGrath and Nic O’Grady each collected 1 on route to the 10-0 victory

Thursday night would be a better test as the undefeated Exeter team was in town. Yungblut would get the start and after a shaky 1st inning settled down nicely allowing only 2 runs on 4 hits over his 4 innings of work. Bowman would finish the last 3 innings again allowing only 2 runs on 2 hits while the pair combined to strike out 9 would-be batters. Exeter’s pitchers seemed to stymie the Legionaries’ hitters but the hometown lads managed to push 5 runs across giving them the 5-4 win. Bowman & Hamilton each collected 2 hits, while Mock, Yungblut, O’Grady and McGrath each chipped in with 1.

Special thanks to a few mosquitoes Ethan Cook, Keegan Reesor and Travis Bannerman who filled in admirably this past week, as the peewees were short several players. The busy season continues as the team has a double header on Sunday, then 3 more games next week.
