Peewee’s Showing signs of Improvement
As we enter the summer it’s not only the weather getting hot, so are the Peewee’s as they extend their winning streak to 6 games with a 7-1 win over Waterloo

The young Legionaries enter the summer months on a bit of a streak winning their last 6 games and are starting to play with a little more consistency. Pitching and defense for the most part have carried the team to their current 13-4-1 regular season record but in order to reach the next level the team will have to continue to focus on their hitting. “It’s a little strange” notes coach Matt MacLeod, “one game we’ll drive the ball all over the park, the next it seems as if it’s out 1st time seeing real pitching”. This year’s squad is led by several 2nd year players and the likes of Lucas Jamieson, Will Calder, Michael Uptigrove, Brett MacLeod, Austin McGrath, Reid Gooding, Nic O’Grady and newcomer Tyson Meyer will be looked upon to become more focused themselves as well as helping show, by example, the 1st year players.

Like last year the peewee schedule consists of 38 games in both the ICBA and WOBA. Currently the team sits 2nd in the both leagues and if the hitting comes around the coaching staff is confident that they can beat any of the teams they have faced. The upcoming week should be a good test as the team faces Lucan (top team in the WOBA) on Thursday night at Jacksonville Park (6:30) then Guelph (3rd in the ICBA) on Sunday @ 1:00 also at Jacksonville Park.
