Squirt Girls Struggle...
Submitted By Julie Donaldson on Tuesday, June 22, 2010
Our game against Mitchell showed the coaches that multiple rotations are not allowing the girls to properly learn a position.  As well we have decided to award the girls for "standing out" with a "game ball" to sign at the end of each game!

Our game on June 8th, against Mitchell, Briana Donaldson began to struggle with her pitching as Carly Gerber did well, and Mallory Kuepfer got her debut in the 4th inning pitching very well with 3 strike outs in 6 batters allowing no runs in!

Heather Vance hit a TRIPLE!!  Our runs brought in that night were by Jessica Bannerman, Carly (2), Briana (2),
Mallory, and Heather.  Way to go girls!

Many, many errors were made in the defence, as players did not know where to throw the ball once they got it.  This is what made the coaches decide to stop multiple rotations during each game.

Our game on June 22nd, against Sebringville, showed that our bats are once again in need of practice, as well as our pitchers!  Defence was looking much better tonight as the girls began to play like a team using cut offs and talking to each other.

We began a new trend on the team.  During each game the coaches are watching everyone to see their improvements and best plays... If there is a particular girl that "stands out" in a game, they will be rewarded our "game ball" where the player will get to sign the ball.

Tonights' game ball went to Briana Donaldson, as she successfully bunted, and hit a double, as well showed aggressive running & stealing around the bases as she slide safely into home twice.  We can't wait to see the girls improvements, and award the game ball to everyone before the season is up!

Runs tonight were brought in by Mallory Kuepfer, Briana (2), & Erica Hemmingway (2).  Way to be on girls!
