Girls Softball - Announcement for 2018 Season
LMBA is pleased to announce that it will be
providing all girls softball players, from squirt to midget, the
opportunity to try out for a select team at each level.
Selected players will play on their assigned house-league team and will also be provided with the opportunity to represent their division in tournaments and ORSA ( The Ontario Rural Softball Association) play-downs.
This past season the Bantam Girls entered a select team into the ORSA play-downs and emerged as division champions. Rural communities from across Ontario have the option to enter into these play-downs and teams are put into divisions based on population size.
LMBA feels that to further enhance the skill development of our program we would like to give interested players the opportunity to play other teams from across Ontario. This would include entry into tournaments, at the coach’s choice, and ORSA.
There will be a fee, in addition to regular league registration, to cover the cost of tournaments and umpires for play-downs. If you are a softball player who is seeking the opportunity to play more games in a season and wish to compete against other teams in Ontario…..Stay Tuned!
More information will be provided at LMBA Registration in February. Try-outs, depending on weather, should commence mid to late April, 2018.
More information regarding ORSA, including teams that were entered for the 2017 season, can be found on their website. http://www.ontarioruralsoftballassociation.ca/
