The Listowel 11U Legionnaires capped off a dominant weekend of baseball by winning the OBA “C” Provincial Championship. The squad went undefeated, showcasing a mix of offensive firepower, resilient and consistent pitching, as well as some timely defensive performances.
Listowel's tournament opened on Friday with two commanding victories, as Listowel defeated Caledonia 13-4 before rolling past Ingersoll 12-3. Then, after earning a bye into Saturday evening’s action, the Legionnaires faced their toughest challenge yet, edging Beamsville 7-6 in a thrilling nail-biter to secure a spot in the semifinals.
On Sunday morning, Listowel’s bats came alive once again, powering them to a 13-3 victory over Dresden to advance to the finals. In a rematch against Beamsville, the Legionnaires showed their composure, grinding out a 4-2 win to clinch the championship. With five straight victories, the Legionnaires’ depth, teamwork, and determination carried them all the way to the OBA crown. Congratulations Legionnaires!
