U9T1 overcome low start at the beach to sting Saugeen Shores 16-11!!
The U9T1 Legionnaires travelled to Port Elgin on Tuesday night to battle the Sting pitting the top two teams in the league against each other.
It was a slow start for both teams with the road team failing to put up a run through the first innings and finding themselves in a 5-0 hole, a very unfamiliar position for this team this season. Down 6-4 heading into the 6th inning the bats would finally come alive and would see the Legionnaires put up 12 runs in the last two to take a 16-11 come from behind victory and extend the win streak to 7.
Next action sees their Hwy 23 rivals the Mitchell Astros come to town on Monday which should be another closely fought game between two very solid teams.
