U17's Season Kickoff
Wow - Last night's kick off game showed that these girls have what it takes!

Linnea started the evening on the mound, and with her team behind her, the girls closed the first two innings with 3up, 3down! In the 2nd inning Addison turned a quick double play and that's when the game went from nerves to excitement! Lauryn started the bats for us in the second inning and scored with Alyssa's RBI hit! First run of the season! Top of the third, the girls truly worked as a team, as they coordinated & executed the first season's pickle play at 3rd. Linnea closed off the inning with two great strikeouts including her first successful changeup thrown, resulting in a strike out!
Cami started pitching in the top of the 4th and she too managed to execute her first successful changeup striking out the first batter she faced. Entering the bottom of the 4th, The score now 2-1 for Fullarton, we needed some bats to come alive and Addison kicked things up with our season's First Home Run! Top of the fifth, Fullarton wanted to battle back but with another well executed pickle play on 3rd, our Legends showed they were there to play ball. Carleigh got us out of the inning with a solo play on 1st. Bottom of the 5th, the bats had lit up with Cami and Anna both powering doubles to bring in a number of runs with Camryn, Marissa, Neve, and Addison on base for scoring!
With the extreme excitement bringing in five runs in the 5th, Anna took the mound. Fullarton was not going down without a fight. Anna pitched well with two strikeouts. With bases loaded, Neve fired a ball in from LF, assisting with a tag out to close the top of the inning! Bottom of 6th, bats stayed hot, with Becca and Alyssa on base, Camryn, Marissa, & Neve connected with strong singles, while Cami locked in for the second Home Run of the game! WIN Listowel 13, Fullarton 4!
We'd like to also welcome an Exchange student from Japan playing with us this year! Momoko, is one talented ball player! Even with language barriers, she still managed to call and start a pickle play, ran like no other, fielded the ball with speed & accuracy, and even put down the first bunt of the season! Welcome Momoko and thanks for being an amazing teammate!
As your coaches, Alexa, Bree & I were over the moon about the drive you all have! Those that took part in pitching clinic this spring with Bree & I, have really made us proud watching them take what they learned and really change things up on the mound- literally! The tight defense, great field communication, and on-fire offense, had all of us charged and thrilled to be part of this team!
The girls head to Mitchell for the Fastballfest Tournament this weekend to continue to play, learn & develop together! Cheers to a fun season Girls!!
