U17 Legend's Faced Wilmot at Home
On Wednesday night Listowel went to bat against Wilmot and although this game was  held to 1 run only in the first two innings, Listowel finally found their groove in the bottom of the third.

Cami took the mound to start the game and with a quick 3up 3down in just 5 pitches, the legends team held tight defense to close it down quickly, including a great toss out from catch Lauryn to second base to catch a stealing runner for the 3rd out!  Now up to bat, Momoko started us off on base tapping a sweet bunt and Addison and Carleigh brought her home with two solid singles, but Wilmot was not allowing for anymore as they too, shut down the first inning quite quickly.  Top of two, Legends backed their pitcher Cami for the first out, and cheered her on as she struck out the 2nd and 3rd out with great pitches and skilled change ups!  Wilmot did not back down in the bottom of the second as they quickly closed us down in just four batters.  Alyssa was the only one to secure a single.

Top of the third, legends continued to display fine defensive skills as they worked together to put out 3 up, 3 down again, and in the bottom of the inning our bats came alive! Cami started the rally with a strong double, and with Momoko securing first base with a keen eye, Lauryn followed suit with a single.  Carleigh eager to really put her new bat to test, drove a triple out to centre field!  Becca followed suit with a solid hit and with Camryn reaching base after a battle at the plate, Alyssa cranked a homerun which brought two teammates and herself around home and all together, the girls scored the full 7 runs allowed!

Heading into the top of the 4th, the team didn't let up with another quick inning of 3up 3down!  But Wilmot was not going to let another 7 run inning happen against them!  Anna started us off at the plate but was hit by a pitch, but that didn't slow her down as team mates Neve and Marissa helped bring her around the bases and she stole home to bring in our only run that inning.  Top of the 5th Cami remained strong at the mound and quickly struck out the first two batters.  Although one player did walk to first and make it home, Carleigh caught a foul ball at first, to put the 3rd player out.  Bottom of the 5th a couple more runs were scored by Listowel as Cami hit a solid single and Lauryn clobbered the second homerun of the evening, bringing both runs in.

Since Wilmot struggled to go to bat against Cami's skillful pitching, she remained at the mound and once again her team skillfully backed her with their fourth 3up, 3down inning! Bottom of the 6th Becca started a rally with a single, while Camryn, Alyssa, Anna, Neve, Marissa and Linnea all secured a base and helped bring in 3 more runs!  Cami finished the game off at the mound even though Wilmot finally started to connect with some of her pitches, they still only managed to bring in their second run of the night!  Carleigh caught another foul at first, Cami struck one batter out and at catch, Addison chase a passed ball, threw it behind her backwards and wide to Cami as she came in to help cover home with a runner coming towards home plate.  Cami managed to catch the  toss on her run forward, and dove in the air forward landing on top of the sliding runner home and still managed to hold onto the ball after landing for the last tag out! What a way to finish a game girls!

With such amazing defense and quick 3up 3down innings, the girls finally played their first 6.5 inning game!  Way to keep things moving!  Their next game is Tuesday June 21 as they travel to Brussels.
