U17's Played for the Win
On LMBA Day, these girls went to bat, making sure their family, friends and coaches had something to cheer about!

Five out of ten of this roster had just finished playing in the game before, and the others had been volunteering for our fundraiser up until they all took the field in the opening inning versus Stratford.  Anna pitched an amazing start with only 1 runner coming in, she managed to hold bases loaded and threw 3 strike outs.  Bottom of the 1st, Momoko started us off at bat and was also our last at bat.  Everyone made it on base and managed to bring in the full 7 maxed runs allowed.

Top of the second, Anna took the mound again.  Although there was some struggle to find the strike zone Anna stayed strong.  She managed to strike one out and her team backed her to get the other two out.  Stratford managed to score only four runs.  Bottom of the second Addison & Lauryn started us off with singles followed by Carleigh coming up strong with a fantastic triple sending both girls home!  Camryn followed suit with a big double and with Anna getting on base with a great eye, Neve hit a solid single followed by Marissa. then back to the top of the order Lauryn also connected with a secure double too, bringing in the rest of the runs needed to secure the max 7 runs again!

Heading into the 3rd, Claire, our U15 call up for the day took to the mound.  With only four batters faced, it was a quick inning.  Momoko fielded the first ball from short to Carleigh on 1st. Claire struck the second batter out, and although the third batter made it onto base, Becca slowed a direct ball hit to her, recovered it and quickly threw to Addison to put out the runner out going to 2nd.  Bottom of the 3rd these ladies had the bats swinging again!  Carleigh, Becca, Camryn, and Anna connected for singles.  Neve stole to first and Marissa got her base while Momoko, Addison and Lauryn all helped to hit the 7 max runs in again.

Neve got to take her first season start at the mound in the top of the 4th.  Unfortunately with an error off the first bat, the inning went longer then we had hoped.  The next two batters were quickly fielded out.  Neve fielded a ball to first and Carleigh fielded a ball back to Camryn on first. Stratford began to load the bases and secure runs in and it wasn't until four runs had come in next that Becca fielded and threw the 3rd out running home.  That was the end of the game with time up and just 3.5 innings finished and a win of 21-9.  Hope the high energy continues as the U17 Legends welcome Wilmot to their home diamond this Wednesday at 8:30.
